"The Tempest" by William Shakespeare takes on a new life on the stage of TFN. The storm becomes the paradox between the greatness of the human spirit and the cruelty of history. It shows us the fragility of human values, and that despair can give shape to a better life.
The Shakespearean history of the world which includes: power, murder, rebellion, violence and love, unfolds on Prospero's island. The storm takes character and becomes a drama of lost illusions, of bitter wisdom and of a fragile, yet stubborn hope.
“The Tempest" directed by Mihai Țărnă is a dramatic play with comedic elements, who’s themes revolve around the fall and rise of man, the redemption, but also the eternal loss of souls. The sand dunes are moved one by one from one side to the other, waterfalls of sand bury the protagonists and the waves carry the raft that serves as the place of action. The island drifts on the water waves, the lightning arrows through the human pride, and the dreams are hitting huge masts and logs that roll towards the characters who are walking barefoot on the cold sand.
